Lewis F. Richardson adapted a nursery rhyme to befit meteorology about fractal wind patterns.

Big whorls have little whorls
That feed on their velocity;
And little whorls have lesser whorls
And so on to viscosity.

This poem was cited in a paper about turbulence. [1]
